The authorities are trying to quell the riots that broke out on June 6 in California. On this day, Customs and immigration police officers conducted a raid in the city of Paramount, south of Los Angeles. Attempts to detain several people suspected of illegally staying in the United States escalated into clashes with local residents, mostly immigrants from Mexico. The next day, the riots continued, spreading to Los Angeles and its suburb of Compton. Participants in the unrest, mostly migrants from Latin America, attacked police cars, public buildings, and burned car tires. The police are trying to restore order with stun grenades and rubber bullets. Donald Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard soldiers to be sent to Los Angeles. And critics of the US president remind him that the unrest was preceded by a sharp and, as many believe, unjustified tightening of migration policy. People are deported from the country, regardless of the circumstances of their stay in it and not stopping at separating members of the same family.
